The most important university surf competition in the country is back and once again the male and female college national titles will be played in Ericeira, this year with the return to the beach of Ribeira d'Ilhas, a famous Ericeira surf camp and spot, Surf Portugal magazine noticed. With the official sponsorship of Sumol, the competition is scheduled for 4 and 5 of July, when the Sumol Summer Fest will also happen, this year with a new space in Ribeira d'Ilhas to strengthen all the excitement around the championship.

The Ribeira d'Ilhas scenario will be filled with music and surf and awaits an end-of-week full of action and fierce competition among the best university surfers from Portugal. This edition features the brand Sumol as Naming Sponsor, renewing its continued on the national surf and also has the support of the Municipality of Mafra, always there to encourage surfing in Ericeira.
Awaiting-competitors from universities from OPorto to Algarve, spread the usual academic spirit to involve competition for new titles of university national champions. Edgar Nuts, from the Lusófona University and Inês Martins of the Nova University are the current national champions and will be present to defend the title. Ericeira surf camp users will be there to watch.
The competition is opened to all university students in Portugal
This is an official trial of the Academic Federation of University Sports. The organization was held by the Lusófona University in partnership with Ericeira Surf Club. This trial is also promoted by Jobsite surfboards, with production in Ericeira of several international shapers and it will bring to Ribeira d'Ilhas a demonstration of shape made by professional shaper Luke Budd, from South Africa.
Another highlight is the partnership with Surfrec, which will ensure the shooting of the competition, that will be available for correction work and technical improvement of surfers. A novelty this year will be the presence of the Manual Method 7, a book devoted exclusively to surf training, written by surfer John Macedo, which, after being sold in Portugal and the United States, now comes with a new edition available at the competition.
This is a competition opened to all students of higher education and the registration ends on 20th June in the associations of students of all higher education institutions.
