Portugal happens to be in a unique geographic location which benefits the country in great ways.
Having such an exposed coast to the northern Atlantic storm swells give you not only great surf but also a feel for what the Atlantic Ocean really looks and feels like.
Visiting Portugal - especially small towns away from any type of city life - guests will find a special life style - unique when in comparison to other European countries.
Passion is real here and the people that permanently live in Portugal know it!
A mix of all the cultural aspects and long history placed in this unique landscape with the ocean´s influence makes Portugal something else that has inspired many of its people. This includes great poets like Fernando Pessoa or explorers like Vasco de Gama and also in the creation of the genuin national music (Fado) with artists Like Amalia and more recently Mariza.
There is a feeling you get when you are in Portugal which is worth any traveler´s time. Open your mind and come visit this amazing country.
Areia Branca Beach and surf.
"Keep it a secret..."
Ever get a feeling like you are the first to find out about something? Well, that is still the feeling that you get in this beutifull beach town and surounding beaches.
Small but big. Yup its perrfect!! Surf spots + shops + restaurants + bars and clubs and a local suermarket.
Its complete for the vacationer looking for a corner away from it all but close enough to reach other areas like the capital Lisboa and the city of Peniche.
You should know - Peniche and all the surrounding beaches is "the surf center of Europe".
When convinient on any specific day, making the 12km trip north to Peniche is not an obsticle at all. Meanwhile this gewl of a location, - the beach of Areia Branca, has so much to offer with the amount of surf spots which are available. Throughout our 4 major beaches we benefit from more uncrowded spots in comparison to places.
Writting about it here isn´t exactly the greatest idea considering we would like to maintain the situation as it is presently... lets just say its worth visiting - come and find out for yourself!
