Portugal will host KIA Waves of Gold Surf Awards, an event which will take place on the 10th of June in Cascais, according to Surf Portugal magazine. The goal is to choose the best surfers of several surf areas in Portugal. The general public will choose the winners. Surfers are valued according to the following categories: performance, training, shape, foto and video. First surfing gala in Portugal will also distinguish the sexiest surfers in the country, according to the public. Ericeira surf will be surely represented.
Ericeira surf among the spots to see the sexiest surfers in the country
The sexiest surfers in Portugal will be chosen previously by the public, through an inquiry in Surf Portugal magazine's website. Ericeira surf beaches are some of the spots where the candidates can be seen very often. The inquiry, which gathers several surfers well known of the great public and some of the most atractive national surfers is already closed.
The four most voted surfers (two males and two females) will join the remaining named surfers in the remaining classes.
There are several classes and ranks of surfers
Besides the sexiest surfers on the year, Kia Waves of Gold surf awards, powered by Surf Portugal will also award the following classes: Oakley Surfer of the Year, Roxy Female Surfer of the Year, Ericeira Surf & Skate Tube of the Year, Billabong Biggest Wave of the Year (paddling), Ocean & Earth Biggest Wave of the Year (tow-in), Reef Year Stunt, Volcom Free Surfer of the Year, Deeply Year Revelation, Polen Wave of the Year, Xhapeland Shaper of the Year, Kia Event of the Year, Hurley Videoclip of the Year, Coach of the Year and Photo of the Year.
Applications were opened until May 22nd while the jury accepted photos and videos produced after August the 1st 2014. The winners will be known on June 10th, in an event that will reveal the most voted names.
