It's about time to start looking for a surf camp in Portugal, because this Summer will bring all kinds of activities for surf aficionados from all over the world.
Ericeira, the only surf reservation in Europe and, because of that, a mandatory spot for all of those looking for a surf camp in Portugal where to enjoy the best waves of Europe, will be host to the Allianz Portuguese Surf Film Festival, this coming July, from the 24th to the 27th.
Allianz Portuguese Surf Filme Festival
Right now, the Surf Films Roadshow is going around the country with a show of movies from the last 3 editions of the festival, the latest stop having been Póvoa de Varzim in the North, where two movies from 2014 were shown. The first, "Invasion", is a short, well known for its LED light night time surfing, while "Se7en Signs" is a long feature with several directors, each making his own segment.
Before, the first stop of the roadshow had been in Faro, Algarve, with the short "Learning to Float" and "I Wanna Surf". While the first one tells us the story of Giovanni Douresseau, who lost 45Kg after learning to surf and eventually becoming a mentor to children in risk of social exclusion, the second tells us how it is to live in Switzerland and wanting so surf in a country with no ocean, taking every opportunity to do so, even the strangest ones.
As before, the organization has a strong social focus and at each stop of the roadshow there will be fundraising activities, including sale of national products, namely the special edition of the canned food Conservas Cego de Maio, dedicated to the film festival. While the general audience can also join in by acquiring t-shirts by the very symbolic price of 3€, the admission pass, costing 1€, will also revert to a local charity.
Now stay tuned for the next city in line for the roadshow and don't forget to tap into the festival's social media to find out more about how you can participate.
